Calvin Ngo

Prior to founding Tan Ngo Law, Calvin Ngo spent over a decade developing his litigation and trial skills at several Los Angeles–based law firms. He began his career representing Los Angeles and Orange County public entities in high-stakes matters involving law enforcement agencies and first responders, including cases arising from use-of-force incidents, civil rights claims, and other complex disputes. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of how institutions evaluate risk and liability—insight he now uses to advocate for individuals facing powerful opponents.

Through this work, Calvin gained extensive experience litigating cases on behalf of both institutional defendants and individual clients across a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury, civil rights, and employment law. He approaches each case with a practical, trial-focused mindset grounded in preparation, strategy, and accountability.

In 2020, Calvin founded Tan Ngo Law to expand access to justice and provide high-quality representation to individuals who may otherwise feel shut out of the legal system. Since its inception, the firm has been exclusively dedicated to representing plaintiffs harmed by the intentional or negligent conduct of others. Calvin also represents employees in disputes involving wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace violations, with a focus on holding employers accountable and protecting workers’ rights.

During law school, Calvin was actively involved in public-interest and community-based legal work. He volunteered with programs assisting survivors of domestic violence, served as tenant-rights counsel for low-income housing communities throughout Los Angeles, and externed for the Honorable Rolf M. Treu (Ret.) of the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Honorable Sheri Bluebond of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California

Calvin earned his Juris Doctor degree in California and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
